System Administrator

ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be integrated in a team of engineers, network engineers and IT engineer, working on several project focused on engineering Ground Segments for satellite communication systems.

The activity includes:

Installation and configuration of virtualization hypervisor to build private and public cloud infrastructure.Installation and configuration of operative system on physical HW and virtual machines.Installation and configuration of orchestrator to build microservices infrastructure.Installation and configuration of application COTS for network monitoring, cybersecurity and system management.

The main tasks and responsibilities are:

Contribute to design, development, implementation, deployment, and test of private and public cloud infrastructure, physical HW and virtual machines and microservices infrastructure.Contribute to define System, Network and Cyber Security processes, configurations, and procedures.Maintain and analyse the system infrastructures.Producing documentation such as project slides, test procedures, analysis reports, HW/SW design, user manual, installation manual, validation plan.

REQUIREMENTS

Technical Requirement management;

Knowledge of data communications systems;

Knowledge of information security management standards and best practices;

Knowledge of bash and tcsh scripting;

Good knowledge of Linux (postfix, ssh, dns, nis, dhcp, radius etc);

Knowledge of databases (SQL, Oracle ZFS Storage and StorageTek Tape Library);

Good Knowledge of Windows and macOS Macintosh;

Good knowledge of virtual environments (VMWare VCenter, KVM, Hyper-V);

Good knowledge of orchestrator and microservices environments with containers;

Knowledge of Networking and management of network equipment (switches, routers, etc...);

Knowledge of the principles of configuring and using Firewalls, particularly Fortinet products;

Knowledge of the principles of using Docker technology and containerization;

Knowledge use and configuration of Kubernetes;

Knowledge of security technologies and products (Log Management, endpoint security tools, Network and Security Management Tools);

Availability to travel outside the place of work for meetings and installations (Italy and Abroad);

Communication and negotiation skills.

Capability of team working with sharing competence, activity, and goals.

English Language: B2/C1.
