Role
As Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and testing of the software on our attitude determination and control systems. You will implement control algorithms, set up data protocols and carry out software test procedures.
Responsibilities
- Embedded software development
- FPGA development
- Implementation and testing of communication protocols
- Develop and carry out test procedures
- Report on software architecture and test results
- Electronics debugging
Qualifications
Required skills
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or Informatics
- Able to write clean code in C and Python and good overall software development skills (Git, documentation, testing)
- Experience with FPGA development
- Hands on experience with electronics
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Good reporting skills
Desired Skills
- Basic electronic rework/design skills
- Knowledge with space electronics and software design (e.g. Radiation testing, ECSS standards)
- Experience with algorithm optimization

Arcsec was founded in 2020 as a spinoff company of the University of Leuven. We develop high accuracy attitude determination and control systems for small satellites. At arcsec we have a strong focus on quality. Products are tested to high standards regarding vibrations, shock, radiation and thermal aspects. All flight models are assembled and tested within our cleanroom facility. We support our customers to integrate our products in their spacecraft. Arcsec partners with ESA to develop the next generation attitude control systems. Arcsec received support from the European Innovation Council to develop space debris detection capabilities for their star trackers, under the DeDUST project, short for Debris Detection Using Star Trackers.
