We are looking for a Technical Manager on Structures & Mechanisms to join its team and help develop space-qualified and commercially applicable Structures & Mechanisms in the space sector, including nano-satellite, lander and micro-launcher components related to projects currently underway at the company.
The following types of responsibilities are envisioned:
▪Elaboration of architectural designs for structures & mechanisms in response to stated system and subsystem requirements;
▪Elaboration of structural design task breakdown and corresponding end-to-end development timelines;
▪Technical management of a multidisciplinary team in the scope of the development of space structures and mechanisms;
▪Coordination of tasks involving structural design, modelling, simulation and analysis (including through FEM tools);
▪Elaboration of design reports for space structures and mechanisms, including FEM analysis;
▪Elaboration of test, verification and validation plans for space structures;
▪Coordination of parallel-running tasks towards the completion of a complete space structure or mechanism;
▪Periodic reporting of project development status;
▪Contribution to mid- and long-term technology development plans.
Academic Background:
Required:
▪BA/BS Engineering degree in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering or equivalent
Professional Experience:
Required:
▪Experience in modelling and simulation;
▪Experience of 3 years in structural & thermal design;
▪Experience with FEM modelling and simulation.
Desired:
▪Experience in the development of space-qualified structures;
▪Experience in the scope of European Space Agency projects.
Languages:

The purpose is to develop complete subsystems and small vehicles. The team is also involved in developing structural solutions & mechanisms for space applications - for Earth Observation nanosatellites, small launchers and space exploration missions (Lunar, Mars and small bodies). To this end, the company has been significantly investing for several years in the development and maturation of complete subsystems such as complete nano-satellite structures, small optical instruments, non-explosive actuators and winch mechanisms.
The working environment is highly dynamic and multidisciplinary, and every team member is expected to continuously collaborate with experts in other fields of expertise towards a common goal - typically a complete vehicle or a subsystem, under the direction of highly knowledgeable staff with extensive prior accomplishments. Technologies to be further developed and refined include outputs from prior European Space Agency contracts for developing software and hardware solutions. The team is composed of aerospace, mechanical, electrical and software engineers, and is currently aiming at a significant expansion of its engineering capabilities in the scope of several ongoing research and industrial contracts in these challenging fields.
