EDGX is a fast-growing Belgian space tech startup revolutionising the industry with intelligent, adaptive spacecraft. In the past year, we’ve expanded from 3 to 9 team members and won the imec.istart "Next Unicorn 2024" award. This year, we’re also preparing for our first rocket launch —a huge milestone!

We seek a Business development manager who drives efficiency, profitability, and strategic goals. 

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing 

  • Strategic planning: Develop and execute business strategies to achieve company goals. Monitor industry trends and adapt accordingly.
  • Sales: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in the commercial segment. Fully  develop opportunities from A to Z, including lead generation and closing deals, in collaboration with the CEO.
  • Bid management: Coordinate and manage proposal submissions for tenders or contracts. Ensure the bid complies with client specifications, industry standards, and legal requirements.
  • Customer relations: Possess strong interpersonal skills to build trust and meaningful relationships. Demonstrate outstanding communication skills.
  • Conferences: Attend meetings and (inter)national conferences. Coordinate 
    in-person product demonstrations. 

Qualifications

What you’ll be bringing 

  • +3 years of business development experience in a deep tech or space tech environment.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant field.
  • A start-up mentality: flexibility and a proactive approach to tackling challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of public tendering procedures within ESA, EU, or defence organisations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business development, ideally within the fields of Satcom, telecommunications, earth observation, or space situational awareness.
  • Experience in customer management and customer relationship building.
  • Experience in negotiating deals with partners.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. Dutch skills are a plus.
  • Experience and connections within the Space Industry.
