We are on the lookout for an experienced embedded developer with strong C++ skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience and will be a lab animal - not afraid to fiddle with hardware and prototype the firmware for it. Your role will be to conduct the development and prototyping of avionic systems for space products and related ground equipment, focusing on the software/firmware aspects. This role puts you in close collaboration with the Head of Embedded Systems, offering a unique perspective into the workings of a fast-growing startup. It's a chance to play a crucial part in our team, where your contributions will directly shape the space systems we develop.
bare-metal microcontroller programming in modern C++;prototyping and designing of firmware for avionic space systems;participation in developing and conducting tests for the validation and flight qualification of our products;planning and execution of engineering and qualification tests of the embedded systems of our products;active contribution in the AIT (assembly, integration and testing) processes of avionic space systems.
Your Skills
electronics, embedded software, mechatronics, automation, robotics, or similar engineering background;demonstrated professional experience in autonomous design of firmware for microcontroller-based systems;demonstrated professional experience in developing and automating test code;excellent skills in modern C++ and good OOP practices;advanced knowledge of any typical embedded communication interfaces such as RS232, RS485, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet;fluent in reading electronic schematics;very good skills in using laboratory equipment (e.g., oscilloscope);fluent use of git, CMake, and CI toolchain;good knowledge of Python;ability to work independently;team player;resilience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment;comfortable use of English (speaking and writing);legal authorization to work in the Italy.
Nice to have
electronics design and soldering experience are nice to have;experience in space systems AIT;good knowledge of physics in the context of space engineering (effects of radiation, vacuum and thermal stresses on electronic systems);good knowledge of space industry standards, in particular those referring to design, assembly, integration and testing of electronic systems.
What We Offer
competitive salary;"buono pasto";hands-on experience with the design, manufacturing, and testing of space-grade systems;active and all-round participation in the operations of a NewSpace startup in the heart of Europe’s high-tech hub;subsidised company activities;flexible working hours.
At Revolv Space, we unlock the full potential of small satellites by designing, manufacturing, and testing next-generation mechanisms and power systems that ensure uninterrupted payload availability and maximize the monetization of space assets. We offer a family of affordable, high-performance Solar Array Drive Assemblies (SADAs) designed specifically for small satellites, supporting power ranges from 100W to 5kW. With our innovative redundancy systems and advanced sun-tracking technology, our SADAs optimize solar array exposure, doubling power generation and vastly boosting smallsat platform capabilities and mission returns. Operating from Torino (Italy) and Noordwijk (The Netherlands), Revolv Space delivers agile, fail-safe solutions that consistently meet ambitious client deadlines and budget constraints. As a trusted partner in the small satellite sector, we address the urgent need for cost-effective solutions with short lead times — driven by our technical expertise, relentless focus on customer satisfaction, and commitment to innovation
