Role
We are hiring a Financial Controller who will help shine a light on our unit economics and to plan for our next phase of growth. In this role, you will interact with the CEO and COO directly and will have an impact on shaping the internal operations of the company. The ideal candidate will have a track record in a similar position, experience with startup companies is particularly welcome.
Responsibilities
Your Mission
- oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting;
- prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports and guide financial decisions based on the data;
- manage cash flow and ensure timely payment of all financial obligations;
- assist in preparation of tax returns;
- develop and implement our accounting policies and controls framework as the team scales;
- coordinate with external tax/financial consultants;
- manage the budgeting and forecasting process;
- conduct financial analysis and prepare reports for management;
- ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations;
- assist with audits and other financial reviews.
Qualifications
- a degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or in a related field;
- 5+ years of experience in a financial controller role or similar;
- strong knowledge of Italian tax laws and accounting standards;
- excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- proficiency in English and Italian (both written and spoken);
- excellent Excel skills;
- outstanding diligence and precision in dealing with numbers and reporting;
- fit for fast-paced environment;
- ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- experience with international accounting standards (IFRS) and possessing accountancy certification will be considered an advantage;
- experience with ERP systems will be considered an advantage.
