Human Resources Department Traineeship

Role

Depending on the HR area of assignment, the trainee will be expected to carry out under supervision the following duties:

  • Support the execution of HR projects, processes, communications, and other strategic initiatives;
  • Support and provide assistance for all aspects of selection and recruitment processes;
  • Support various HR operations and services for staff;
  • Provide assistance with relocation support as needed;
  • Support performance management activities as needed;
  • Support the provision of all employees’ Learning & Development events;
  • Provide other administrative support upon need and requirements (e.g. assisting the HR team in document and file management).

The area of assignment within HR may change as required by the Agency’s needs

Qualifications

Eligibility Criteria

The traineeship is open to applicants who have not previously undertaken a regular (paid) traineeship at EUSPA and who meet the following requirements:

  1. Have a nationality of any Member State of the European Union, Iceland or Norway;
  2. A recognised higher education degree (university education or equivalent), evidencing completion of a full cycle of study, or in the case of candidates who are at the end of their studies, an official certification confirming that students are currently in their final year of academic studies;
  3. Have interest or knowledge about one or more areas of work of the Agency obtained during their studies/research projects/traineeships or through previous professional experience;
  4. Possess a thorough knowledge of one official language of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the European Union; one of these languages must be the working language of the Agency (English);
  5. Have a clean criminal record.

Selection Criteria

  1. Experience of work or study in the area of Human Resources Management / Business Administration / Public Administration / EU Studies, or other relevant areas;
  2. Experience working in a multicultural environment and/or studying abroad will be an asset;
  3. Good knowledge of IT applications (Word, Excel, and any other is an asset);
  4. Proactive attitude and ability to adjust to new tasks in a demanding work environment;
  5. Service orientation;
  6. Effective communication;
  7. Transversal collaboration and working in teams;
  8. Excellent command of both written and spoken English;
  9. Motivation for the post.

The current vacancy is for an opportunity in the Human Resources Department, which proactively contributes to the fulfilment of the missions of the Agency by managing talent acquisition and development as well as personnel administration. The department develops, implements and enforces the Agency's staff regulations and policies; ensures that relevant information on personnel is kept safe, up-to-date and readily accessible to management and staff; organises selection and recruitment processes; integrates new hires into the Agency and assists with the relocation and integration of their families into their new environments. The department also ensures effective performance management as well as professional development of the Agency’s staff and promotes ongoing social dialogue.

The position requires permanent relocation to the Agency’s headquarters in the heart of Europe – Prague – a location with excellent connections to numerous major European cities. The capital of the Czech Republic, in the banks of the Vltava River, is famous for its cultural life, renowned musical life, historic buildings, magical bridges, and recognised museums and monuments.
