Sucontractors Technical Manager - Avionics

Role

The person we are looking for will join the Supply Chain Avionics team, with responsibility for the programmatic management of procurement for structures and propulsion components to be used in all space and military programs.

Specifically, in functional coordination with the engineering and supplier qualitydepartments, the Subcontractor Manager is responsible for implementing all necessary internal and external actions to ensure the supply of products/services on time, within budget, and in compliance with the required technical and quality standards.

In this role, the Subcontractor Manager serves as the primary interface between the company and the suppliers developing subsystems

Responsibilities

  • Support the "Procurement" organizational unit in purchasing marketing activities and scouting/analyzing the best outsourcing/procurement opportunities.

  • Support the "Procurement" organizational unit in contracting activities by contributing to the drafting of "Statement of Work" (SOW) documents to be attached to contracts.

  • Oversee and ensure the development plan of all systems under responsibility in accordance with the signed contracts, interfacing with the program/project supply chain managers.

  • Oversee and ensure the production process of all systems under responsibility in accordance with the signed contracts.

  • Ensure periodic monitoring of suppliers' capacity and capabilities, as well as periodic verification of medium-to-long-term production planning.

  • Ensure the assessment of the impact on suppliers' workload in response to changes in supply requirements.

  • Regularly interact with low-performing suppliers to analyze the causes of their performance issues and define recovery plans, ensuring their timely execution.

  • Ensure expediting activities in the presence of structural criticalities related to the relevant contracts, in collaboration with the Planning units.

  • Ensure the management of the delivery schedule and product quality (in coordination with the appropriate functions and organizational areas) for the relevant aspects, in close cooperation with the responsible Supply Chain Manager.

  • Ensure the proper management of all contractual changes (CCN, amendments to issued WOs, etc.) through negotiation and finalization with the supplier, including commercial aspects.

  • Ensure the proper escalation support request to Procurement in the negotiation of CCNs and contractual changes when necessary, particularly in the case of hard points or showstoppers.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering

  • Excellent knowledge of English and preferably French

  • Knowledge of Project/Program Management principles

  • Previous experience in leadership/coordination roles in other corporate functions is preferred

  • Familiarity with ESA, MIL, or NASA standards

  • Knowledge of cost planning systems and project management

  • Multidisciplinary technical expertise in avionics
