The candidate would support the company in several projects, reporting to the head of Systems Engineering Competence Centre and will work collaboratively with team members across all subsystems. The Systems Engineering Competence Centre is responsible for the overall technical architecture and development of space systems and satellite platforms, from initial concept definition through on-orbit operations. Currently, the company is working on several projects for ESA and the commercial market to provide cutting-edge technologies for Earth observation or communication satellites as well as scientific missions.
Location: Lisbon, Portugal
The person in charge of this position would support the company on the current and upcoming projects regarding systems engineering activities for space systems and satellite platforms.
Specific areas of work include, but are not limited to:
▪generation and optimization of technical budgets;
▪requirements definition and management;
▪test approach assessment;
▪various analyses and simulations and direct collaboration with the Project Office (PMO).
Education:
▪Preferred: M.Sc. in aerospace engineering
Professional Experience:
▪Required: Engineer with 5 - 10 years of experience in the aerospace industry.
Technical Requirements:
The candidate must be an experienced systems engineer, capable of assuming responsibilities as a technical leader within the project or proposals assigned.
Required:
−Detailed knowledge of the systems and subsystems encompassing a spacecraft.
−Expertise in performing tasks to analyze technical data, verify and sustain specific systems configurations in accordance with defined constraints and driving/operational requirements (following ECSS techniques).
−Knowledge of mechanical, thermal, radiation or propulsion systems.
−Knowledge of space-related analysis and design tools: CATIA, NASTRAN/PATRAN, ESATAN, FASTRAD, … to support the spacecraft system architecture.
−Hands-on approach to cross-functional technical issues.
−Knowledge of low-level integration and testing techniques.
−Technical writing, knowledge of ECCS or other space-related standards.
▪Desired:
−Knowledge of Capella MBSE Tool or Valispace.
−Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages.
−Knowledge of MBSE working philosophy.
−Knowledge of New Space approach and techniques.
−Experience in writing relevant technical and project implementation documentation.
−Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
