ALSO Space provides comprehensive consultancy services in Earth Observation (EO), GIS, Geo Data Visualisation, Emergency Management, Environmental Protection, Security, and Defence. What sets us apart is our vibrant and unique blend of technical savviness in EO, professional and impactful communication, user engagement strategies, and community-building expertise. We are also very passionate about our work and extremely focused on impact and inclusivity. 

Our international team comprises staff fluent in a multitude of languages including English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. With the diverse backgrounds of our staff, we are highly agile when it comes to assembling teams of topical experts and specialised service providers, forming successful delivery teams for complex projects.

OUR STRUCTURE

Based in the heart of Brussels, Belgium, ALSO Space, was created in June 2022 by Annamaria Luongo and Stéphane Ourevitch. We employ 19 consultants, not only including experts specialised in Earth Observation, GIS, Geo Data Visualisation, Emergency Management, Environmental Protection, but also in communication, user uptake, and community management. Three of our staff members are based in Central America. 

Despite its recent creation, our company is showing sustained growth, and seeking new talent to support recently acquired international assignments. 

The founders of ALSO Space have close to 30 years of combined experience in communication and community building with an extensive background in the Copernicus ecosystem. Both have a well-established track record of successfully delivering on high profile projects and nurturing community expansion for clients such as the European Commission, ESA, EUMETSAT, and major players in the Earth Observation industry. 

OUR EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE

ALSO Space's strength stems from our team’s expertise in Earth Observation, remote sensing, GIS, computer science, physics, data and environmental sciences, ecology, volcanology, and climatology. Additionally, our consultants bring a wealth of functional skills in areas such as communication, social media management, event management, data visualisation, user engagement and support, and community management. This combination makes ALSO Space unique, and uniquely equipped to manage both the technical and community engagement aspects of projects. 

Our company’s founders have demonstrated their commitment to having impact through the successful completion of assignments for various esteemed organisations including the European Commission (DG DEFIS, EEA, DG INTPA, DG ENV and DG JRC), ESA, EUMETSAT, CNES, Belgium’s Royal Military School, Airbus Defence and Space, Thales Alenia Space, Telespazio, e-Geos, Planetek Italia, GMV, and Indra.
