Senior GNSS Receiver Engineer (Space Sector)

Role


We are selecting engineers with knowledge on GNSS receivers to be integrated into the Navigation Unit to support
new growth areas in development of components for space systems, working to develop GNSS positioning
algorithms to enable high precision positioning for both Space and Terrestrial applications.

Location: Lisbon (Portugal) or Madrid (Spain).

Responsibilities

The following types of responsibilities are envisioned:
▪ Development of real-time software (SW) application for embedded system (GNSS Receiver).
▪ Contribute to design review, prototyping and implementation of GNSS receiver algorithms on SoC (Systemon-Chip) platforms.
▪ Verification and validation procedures for a GNSS receiver.
▪ Work with laboratory instrumentation and RF Constellation Signal simulator (e.g. Skydel).

Qualifications

Education:
▪ Required: A university degree (Aerospace, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science,
Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent) in a discipline relevant to the job profile.
Professional Experience:
▪ Required: 5+ years of experience, particularly with GNSS receivers.


Technical Requirements:

▪ Required:
− Knowledge in GNSS systems.
− Experience in GNSS receivers’ architecture and Signal Processing.
− Working experience with embedded systems and real-time SW in particular for GNSS receivers.
− Experience working in a customer facing environment, managing multiple stakeholders.
− Writing formal technical documentation.
− Capable to act as technical manager.
− Embedded SW and FPGAs.
− Demonstrated programming skills in C (including multithreading programming and data structures).
− Good knowledge of LINUX/UNIX programming environment.
− Knowledge of repositories (GIT, etc.).
− Software engineering methods and techniques.

▪ Desired:
− Familiar with FPGA platforms.
− PNT and Navigation.
− Other programming languages: Matlab and/or Python.
− Unified Modelling Language.
− Development methodologies (waterfall, iterative, agile-scrum, MBD, etc.).
− Continuous integration experience.
− Experience in ESA, EC and/or JRC projects.

− Capability to integrate in a work within a multidisciplinary team, in a collaborative environment with fixed
schedule and inter-dependent relations.
− Demonstrated ability to analyse and synthetize complex information.
− Rigor, commitment and reliability in the execution of the assigned tasks.
− Proactive attitude to solving problems and identify priority actions.
− Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.


Languages:
− English (B2 level as minimum), spoken and written.
