About the role

We are looking for a Communications & Membership Officer to manage internal and external communications, support membership engagement, and contribute to the visibility of Europe’s Earth Observation community.

You will work across campaigns, events, digital platforms, and member relations in a dynamic international environment.

Responsibilities

What you will do

Communications & digital

  • Manage internal and external communications channels (member portal, newsletters, website, social media, events, project communications).

  • Own communications campaigns across EARSC activities and initiatives.

  • Manage and maintain digital tools and platforms.

  • Support communications for EARSC projects and partner initiatives.

  • Support policy and project communications in collaboration with the policy and project teams.

  • Work with partners on joint campaigns, conference booths, and branding activities.

  • Design communication materials (visuals, flyers, banners/roll-ups, reports, briefings, etc.).

Events & engagement

  • Support the organisation of online and in-person EARSC and project events (e.g., logistics, webinar management, etc.).

  • Manage the promotion of events (EXPANDEO, EOcafes, project-related events, etc.), including, for example, producing visuals and promotional materials for events, event communication campaigns before, during, and after activities, etc.

Membership

  • Manage the membership application process end-to-end.

  • Manage and maintain the EARSC Member Portal. 

  • Manage member onboarding and communication.

  • Manage the promotion of member services and products. 

  • Respond to member requests and inquiries.

  • Maintain engagement with the EARSC member community.

Internal support

  • Support the Secretary General on communications-related tasks.

  • Collaborate closely with Project Officers on project communications

Qualifications

What we are looking for

Essential

  • Excellent written and spoken English (C2 level).

  • 1–3 years of experience in communications (EU institutions, trade associations, industry, or private sector).

  • Strong ability to communicate complex topics to different audiences (EU institutions, industry, general public).

  • Advanced experience with communication and design tools such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, and Premiere Pro.

  • Experience with WordPress and similar web editing and the related web analytics tools.

  • Experience with Mailchimp/HubSpot or similar email marketing tools.

  • Strong organisational skills and experience supporting events (online and in-person).

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Desirable

  • Familiarity with EU or space sector ecosystems.

  • Experience managing online communities or membership organisations.

  • Additional European languages.

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in international projects.

  • Ability to integrate AI tools into daily communications workflows.
